I was growing up in the 80s in Ukraine and we didn’t have much, but we had great family values. One of those values was work-life balance. We had time for conversation and that’s how I practice my dentistry. I sit down and have the conversation with the patients. I spent lots of time with them. The other part of our value was healthy lifestyle. And healthy lifestyle meant healthy food. We would go to the market and we would pick up the vegetables, grow naturally, walk outside. We would have regular physical activity. That’s what I wanted to do through the life. I wanted to help people to have that balance, to have that health and happiness in the life. In Virginia Biological Dentistry, we recognize oral health being an indicator of overall health. And it’s not just about changing the smile or fixing the tooth.
